This is how Katniss Everdeen feels after she volunteered to take her sisters place in the annual hunger games. The hunger games takes 12 girls and 12 boys between the ages of 12 and 18 from each district to fight each other until there is only 1 alive. After a series of interviews and training classes, she is put in the arena. This book shows imagery through making you feel as if you're in the arena seeing the gruesome sights Katniss is. Overall, this is an intense, vividly told series that everyone should have a chance to read.
