Computer Lab

Today in Computer Lab we learned about an awesome program where kids like me could learn about world hunger. There were six missions, or levels,  which required the ability to overcome many obstacles like changing tires in a fast manner when you are delivering food to the villages or measuring the correct amount of food. This experience proved to me that it is possible to survive off just 30 cents a day. It showed me that I am fortunate to have a meal on the table everyday and be healthy. This experience really opened my eyes to the reality of the world we are living in.

Computer Lab

Today in computer lab, we learned about an incredible computer no larger than a credit card. You can plug your television cord, keyboard, and phone charger in and BAM! Your television just temporarily turned into a computer. This portable device can be purchased for just $35. This model is the alpha model and the creators are planning to come out with another version where the device will be encased in a clear plastic. It is something that every avid computer user should have.

The Hunger Games

The Hunger Games

Pages: 374
By: Suzanne Collins
Your trapped in an arena with 23 other people trying to hunt you down. You must always watch your back and show no mercy. This is how Katniss Everdeen feels after she volunteered to take her sisters place in the annual hunger games. The hunger games takes 12 girls and 12 boys between the ages of 12 and 18 from each district to fight each other until there is only 1 alive. After a series of interviews and training classes, she is put in the arena. This book shows imagery through making you feel as if you're in the arena seeing the gruesome sights Katniss is. Overall, this is an intense, vividly told series that everyone should have a chance to read.

Computer lab!

Today in computer lab, we were shown many different sites about learning new things. Two of the main sites were Khan academy and Wonderopolis. Khan academy, which our class is very familiar with, helps all ages learn math skills. Solman Khan has thousands of videos teaching skills from basic to extremely advanced. Wonderopolis on the other hand, is a site where there are tons of random questions answering just about any question you can think of such as what is an aglet through hilarious videos. you just have to ask a question and Wonderopolis will answer them for you! These sites help me to understand that learning things can be fun!!!
